3.3. Valid passport & NIC
The passport of the applicant must contain at least one full blank page on both sides.
The passport must be valid at the time of visa application and on arrival to China. There should be the validity of the Passport for two years.
A birth certificate or national ID card is also important to attach.
3.4. Language Proficiency certificate (IELTS/TOEFL)
Some courses at CSU are in English taught while other courses are in Chinese taught. If the applicant is applying for an English-taught course, he must provide IELTS / TOEFL or any other proficiency certificate.
There must be 6.0 bands in IELTS overall while 85 above score in TOEFL.
Applicants for Chinese-taught courses are required to have an HSK of 260 scores for science and engineering-related courses and 220 for social sciences and arts-related courses.
3.5. Recommendation letters / Letters of Reference
The applicants must provide 2-3 letters of recommendation from the previous university, (Depending upon courses).
It is advised to provide a letter of recommendation from the HOD (Head of the department or Relevant course head) who should be a PhD.
In the case of undergraduates, the Letters should be written by the principal or institution’s head.
The referees need to write their contact details (Email, phone number) at the end of the letter.
The letter must include an official letterhead, signature, and official stamp and must be of the current date.
