The One belt one Road scholarship provides many benefits which include:

  1. The tuition fee is covered by this scholarship.
  2. A monthly stipend is given to scholarship holders throughout their scholarship duration:
  • Bachelors: No stipend.
  • Masters: 3000 RMB.
  • Phd: 3500 RMB.
  1. Health insurance of RMB 800 per year is offered for students to purchase in their scholarship duration.
  2. Scholarships according to the program:
  • Phd: 30,000 (RMB) per year.
  • Masters: 25,000 (RMB) per year.

2. Eligibility criteria for One belt one road scholarship?

To be eligible for the One Belt One Road Scholarship, you must meet the following requirements:

  1. Applicants should be national citizens of one of the countries in the OBOR (One Belt One Road) action plan. 
  1. Have an undergraduate degree from a recognized university.
  1. Applicants should possess a good academic record with good research potential.
  1. Applicants must not hold any other scholarship.
  1. Applications must have proficiency in English or Chinese, depending upon the requirements of the selected degree program.

  • Those who want to do undergraduate majors need to have a high school diploma.

3.1. Academic documents

In the case of Pakistan, The above-mentioned documents must be attested by IBCC, HEC, and MOFA (Ministry of Foreign Affairs).

IBCC authority is only responsible for the attestation of metric and inter documents.

Dear offices are present in Peshawar, Karachi, Lahore, Islamabad, and also in other cities of Pakistan.

HEC office attests to bachelor’s, master’s, and Ph.D. documents.

3.2. Valid passport, Birth certificate & NIC

  • The passport of the applicant must contain at least one full blank page on both sides.
  • The passport must be valid at the time of visa application and on arrival to China.
  • A birth certificate or national ID card is also important to attach.

3.3. English Proficiency (IELTS/TOEFL) for One Belt One Road scholarship

Meeting the English language requirements set by the One Belt one road scholarship is an important step toward achieving your bigger goal.

HSK4 is a must for bachelor’s programs for programs offered in Chinese, and for master’s and doctoral programs, HSK 5 is a must.

However, for programs offered in English TOEFL 60 or IELTS 5.5 is the requirement for bachelor’s students; and TOEFL 70 or IELTS 6.0 is the requirement for master’s and doctoral students. 

Nevertheless, these requirements may vary from course to course and degree to degree.

 

 

 

3.4. Recommendation letters / Letters of References

The applicants must provide up to 3 letters of recommendation. from the previous university, (Depending upon courses).

It is advised to provide a letter of recommendation from the HOD (Head of the department or Relevant course head) who should be a Ph.D.

The referees need to write their contact details (Email, phone number) at the end of the letter.

The letter must include an official letterhead, signature, and official stamp and must be of the current date.

Ask your Referees to write about your academic achievements & discuss their confidence in you that you are fully compatible with the project or course you wish to pursue.

The referees must also mention how long they know the applicant & when was the last time they came in contact with the applicant.

After submitting your application, the referee will be contacted directly through email.

3.5. CV

The Cv must contain all the latest & relevant information about your occupation & interests.
A perfect CV must be hand signed.

 

 

3.6. GRE Score

The GRE score must be 145 in accordance with the new scoring system. The score must be much higher in subjects related to your academic field.

For example, Students with engineering backgrounds must have good scores in Physics, Chemistry, etc while students of Social science and humanities must have good scores in Verbal subjects.  

Note: You can apply for the reimbursement of the GRE fee if you get shortlisted and have an outstanding GRE Score.

 

 

3.7. Hope certificate (If applicable)  


If the final transcript isn’t ready then students can apply with a Hope certificate from their university.

However, they must graduate before their arrival in China.

3.8. Research Plan / Proposal (Optional)

Research publications/ Achievements (conference papers, article review, abstract of thesis)

The research proposal is mostly required for postdocs or Ph.D. students. (Depend upon the courses)

It asks you to write about the research project you agree upon completing with the assigned academic advisor.

Your research proposal should be a brief description of your research goals and objectives, the methods with which you wish to process that research, the outcomes you desire, the timeline and budget you have estimated, and the area of study you wish upon exploring.

It shall be a brief document yet explain the entire vision to the reader so that those analyzing your application could know of your objectives and grant you the scholarship if they match the program’s criteria and eligibility.

4.2. Prepare the documents

Prepare all the documents with the necessary attestation as discussed above. Make sure to read the eligibility criteria properly.

Fill in the online application form on the CSC website, entering the Agency no. for the particular university you have chosen and selecting “B” as the Program Type.

5. Fill out the online application for the university

You need to register yourself both through the NJU’s China International Students Service System and the CSC website.

Register and apply via NJU’s China International Student Service System, selecting “CSC Scholarship” as the program type. You will need to upload the following documents on the NJU’s portal:

  • CSC Scholarship Application Form
  • Academic transcripts
  • Certificate of your highest diploma
  • Two recommendation letters from the teachers of the school you last attended. (At least one referee for master’s program applicants should be an associate professor)
  • HSK test certificate (for Chinese Language applicants) or TOEFL, IELTS, or Duolingo test result (for Information Resources Management applicants)
  • Detailed proposal for study and research in China
  • Medical certificate
  • List of papers published in professional or scientific journals & representative papers or abstracts of articles (optional)
  • The first page of your passport
  • Certificate of non-criminal record.
